The sun is shining, the long weekend is *this* close, and I’m looking forward to tonight’s group workout at Centennial park. It’s all Sunshine, Toffutis and Rainbows in my world! (Can’t have lollipops anymore..)
This weekend I’m planning on : Cleaning, doing Laundry, working out, reading, watching Sex and the City episodes, going to see Prince Caspian in Theatres, sleeping in, mowing the lawn, working in the yard, bringing out firepit benches and bistro set out from hibernation etc etc.
AND.. I’ll keep trying to tame my crazy ideas…
Yesterday around 4h30pm we all got an email from Head Office, wanting us to inform them ASAP of our summer vacation intentions, to try to coordinate things. Around 5pm, Steph and I got an email from the bus tour company saying that they’re doing another New York City bus tour late August. 330$ per person for the bus and hotel.
This time, we wouldn’t spend 200$ on 4 hour guided city tours, and 4 hour New York by night city tours. We wouldn’t go see ALL the tourist attractions again, just our favorites.
This would fall during the “On our own” portion of the Smartest Loser program. There is no reason why we couldn’t eat healthy and work out in Central Park! (!!!!!!!!)
Yeah it’s 17 hours in a bus each way, and only ‘almost 3′ days in NYC.. but we can’t afford a more luxurious trip.
But that’s the thing… Just the thing… Is it wrong to spend 700$-1000$ on a vacation when we just asked the whole internet for financial help to pay for our 3000$ Smartest Loser?
More stuff to consider : This is 3.5 months away. We could save up for it. For the Smartest loser we had 3 weeks to come up with 3000$. This would be for our 5 year wedding anniversary (that’s next month already!) and my birthday (29 in August!), and for ‘living life’ because we’re both madly in love with NYC. Very Madly. Very.
Please tell me dear internet, Am I out of my mind ? Would it be wrong ? Why am I so freakin’ infatuated with New York City? I thought that once I went there, it would tone down. But my infatuation just grew exponentially. Steph’s too. We can be caught on any random weekend, sporting our “I heart NY” t-shirts and reminiscing about the city. Okay.. I’ll stop rambling out loud.
